I am beginning to believe that someone has it out for Sebastian’s and my relationship. One of these days, Fate and I are going to have a nice sit down chat about screwing my life up. You can bet guns will be drawn.
I have given myself three days to find Sebby before Candace has a chance to get her whip lashing in. I have to rely heavily on my demon stalker, Ben, to guide me through the process of finding a succubus who doesn’t want to be found. As is usual, dealing with Ben gives me a headache, but at least he is good for some comedy relief. If his odd sense of humor works for you.
I am hit with a betrayal I was forewarned about when I finally catch up with the succubus. There are many levels of betrayal and even though this may not be the worst kind, it still leaves me pissed off.
Yeah, I know, it is just another day in the life of Nyx Slaughter. I am not even going to mention the fact that I have a baby vampire following me around asking questions I cannot begin to answer. That is something I am trying desperately to forget.
This is book five in the Nyx Slaughter series. It is a companion book to the fourth book and picks up right where the fourth book left off.
Battle. It is what I live for. If you play around in the thesaurus, I think you can get to it by one or two degrees of separation from slaughter, so it is practically my last name. I actually spent most of my life not having a last name. In the paranorm world, your last name represents the blood that flows through your veins. With no one knowing where my DNA came from, it was something that was just ignored. After enough fights, I was finally deemed worthy enough to be given my surname. Knowing what it is, you can imagine what I went through to get it.
I have a feeling that I am going to need all of the skills I have cultivated over the years to win the fight that I currently face. Sebastian has been kidnapped by an evil succubus. I cannot stand by and twiddle my thumbs. I have about three days to find him before the witch gets her whip out and takes her pound of flesh in the process.
Why someone thinks it is funny to play around with our relationship is really grating on me. We have already succeeded in establishing an unbreakable bond between us. Why would our connection need to go through more tests? It is pretty clear we are head over heels for each other. Nothing can come between us. I guess the wolf standing next to me is kind of in that position, but we are figuring out how to make that work.
My list of things I need to do to get Sebastian safely home is growing by the second. Finding a way to kill demons in general is really high on my list. I wish Ben would get back here with some useful information for me. At the same time, I wonder just how long it takes Dante to procure a blood donor for Marcus. There are so many questions that I need answered that I know it won’t be long before I just start screaming them out. Acting like a crazy woman wasn’t exactly how I wanted to be introduced to the other vampires at this conference.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to read this one yet and there are no reviews online. However it does have a 4.0 star rating on Goodreads. I will add my review as soon as I have read it.
I love books. Until recently, I kept to just reading them, but ideas for characters and scenes took control of my mind and made me have to get those ideas down. I started with a series I called Avery Clavens. I enjoyed the world I created there, but it was really still the world we all live in so I decided to move on to something just a little bit different.
In my Nyx Slaughter series, the real world is still out there, but my characters have their own little corner to call their own. I love that it is a bit more fantasy based and I am able to make more things up as I go. I can see at least three more books coming from that world with the possibility of having some different characters’ points of view.
This whole writing thing is a hobby for me. I sit down on the weeknights and weekends and just float over to my other worlds for a while. Other hobbies of mine include: drawing, baking, arts and crafts, motorcycles, hockey, and archery. I like to think I have eclectic tastes where my hobbies are concerned. I love to laugh and try to make myself smile at least once a day. With the crazy thoughts going on in my head that usually isn’t hard.
