Description
After Evan Arden was imprisoned by the enemy for a year and a half, he returned from the desert as a military hero. He’d suffered some minor injuries during his captivity, was discharged from the Marines with a touch of shellshock, but was considered otherwise unharmed. Now he wonders how he ended up where he is – incarcerated in Chicago’s Metropolitan Correctional Center for using his sharpshooting expertise to take out the neighborhood park with a high-powered sniper rifle and multiple rounds of ammunition.
Lia Antonio, the woman he rescued from the desert heat the previous year, is the only person who can bring him out of his sleep-deprived psychosis and mounting PTSD. When she does, Evan knows he can’t just let her go again. He’s never considered leaving the business before – who retires from the mafia? – but he’s determined to get both Lia and himself out of harm’s way.
Evan faces overwhelming forces from multiple directions as a deal to get him out of jail turns more dangerous than he imagined. With a mob war on the horizon and the feds holding evidence over his head, Evan has no choice but to throw himself into the middle of another warzone.
In his efforts to make things right, Evan crosses the wrong man and finds himself on the business end of the crosshairs. With his acute perception and intelligence, he tries to stay a step ahead of his former co-workers, but this time, it isn’t just his own life on the line – he’s got to protect Lia from the man who once called him son.
Excerpt
I resisted the urge to pull out the Beretta and shove it in his face.
“I assume I have you to thank for all of this,” I muttered back.  “What the fuck do you want?”
“Just wanted to make sure you weren’t packing up to leave town or anything stupid like that,” Trent replied.  “I also wanted to make sure you realize I know exactly where you are and what you’re doing—at all times.”
I watched him closely.  He crossed his arms as he leaned casually against the door – too casually.  He was making a point of looking nonchalant, which meant he didn’t completely feel that way.  My eyes searched for other clues about him, but he was practiced in the art of being a complete and total asshole, which was throwing me off my game.
In an attempt to gain some ground, I snapped my fingers and pointed to Odin’s bed.  He quickly moved from my side and went to his place but continued to growl low at the federal agent.
“I told you I would take care of it all,” I reminded him.  “Fuck off and let me do it.”
“You’re quite the conversationalist,” he said with a snide laugh.
“I don’t converse with feds,” I snapped back.  I was immediately pissed off at myself for letting him get to me.
“Just don’t forget to take your dick out of your slut long enough to get your job done.”
I clenched my teeth and glared, trying to keep myself from just walking over and beating the living shit out of him.  I had no doubt that Johnson was nearby, and assaulting a fed in my apartment while I was out on bail wasn’t the very best idea.
“Are you going to spend a lot of time keeping me from getting shit done?” I asked through my teeth.
“I’m going to spend a lot of time making sure you are getting shit done,” Trent retorted.  “If I feel like you’re stalling, I’m going to take it out on her.  What do you think of that?”
“I think that’s an invitation to an underground party.”
We locked stares for a long moment.  Trent eventually cracked half of an insincere smile and then nodded.
“I’ll be seeing you around.”  He turned and walked out the door.
I dropped my ass on the couch and rubbed my temples.  Odin assumed he was free to leave his bed because he came up and leaned his fuzzy mug on my knee.  I rubbed at his head and tried to calm myself down a bit.
None of this was going to work.

Review
I just finished reading it. It’s one of those stories that really submerges you in its plot. It made me feel everything with its characters. I laughed, cried, it made me so angry at times and then happy again. It was a real roller-coaster and that’s what makes a good story, in my opinion. It’s a hard story to read at some points, but if you have read Savage’s stories before, you know that’s just how she rolls. I’m not a person that is easily surprised, yet she manages to do it with every single one of her stories. This story has action, love, sexy times, distrust, revenge; pair it with Evan’s psychological distress and this story blows up. If you read the other two books, you MUST read this one.
I couldn’t be happier with the conclusion of this series. It does feel final. The story comes to a full circle, but there is hope for Evan and Lia. I liked that given the circumstances, they manage and move forward. Evan even gets a treat at the end 😉

Description
Workaholic Isaac hasn’t been back to his hometown since his father’s funeral two years earlier, pushing his family away because of a painful secret. Hanukkah and a forced vacation lure him back to Atlanta, where he’s reunited with his two lost loves – an old motorcycle and his sister’s best friend Giada. While rediscovering his passion for both the bike and the woman, Isaac rebuilds his heart.
Giada has lost her Christmas spirit since returning home to care for her dying parents. Left alone, she struggles to return to her successful teaching career, choosing instead to stay in her hometown. Only the unexpected return of her high school crush Isaac brings any joy to the season.
The transitive nature of Isaac’s visit and Giada’s fear of abandonment keep them from sharing their whole hearts, but certainly not their bodies. Their desire for each other is hotter than flames on a menorah and they take advantage of their limited time together by burning up the sheets. But once their secrets are revealed, their hearts will do all the thinking.
Excerpt
Giada saw the light in the small window of the shop door. The last thing she expected to see when she walked in was a sea of motorcycle parts spread from one end of the room to the other. Isaac stood with his back to her and ran his fingers through his dark hair as he stared down at the array.
She should have cleared her throat or something, but she couldn’t help admiring his tall, lean body or the way his shoulders stretched the polo shirt.
“My God, what have you done?”
He turned, looked at her and his faced completely changed. From the intense face of a man with a problem, he transformed in an instant with a smile that had her blushing right down to her panties. Did his face light up that way just for her? No, he probably did it with everyone, or at least all the women he saw. Charm had never been in short supply with Isaac Backman. She was glad to see that hadn’t changed.
“Mark saved my old bike. I’m just fixing it up.” He walked over to where she stood at the door.
“Fixing it up? It looks as if you’ve completely destroyed it.” He stood very close to her. How was it possible that after all of these years, he still made her weak in the knees?
“Looks can be deceiving, Giada.”
“I … Sadie sent me out here to tell you that your mother is here and you should join the party. They’re waiting on you to light the menorahs.”
His eyes narrowed on her. “Will you have dinner with me tomorrow?”
Of all the things she expected him to say, that was not even close to one of them. “Why?”
“Why?”
“I mean, don’t you think you should spend some time with your family? Why would you want to have dinner with me?”
“Really? You don’t know why?”
She shook her head. She knew her eyes must be the size of saucers. I may swoon. Do women still swoon? Some might, but Giada didn’t. She stilled her emotions.
He stepped closer and leaned down until his lips were next to her ear. “I’ve had a crush on you since we were teenagers. I may still have a crush on you. I’d like to get to know you better. Have dinner with me.”
Her heart pounded so hard, she couldn’t believe she’d been able to hear him at all. But she’d heard every softly spoken word and she found herself nodding her acceptance before she could make herself speak. “I get home at six-thirty. Can we make it seven?”
“I’ll pick you up.”
“Not on that, I hope.”
His laughter shot directly from his lips to the already wet space between her thighs.
Interview With the Author
Hi A. S., thanks for joining me today to discuss your new book, Revving Up the Holidays.
Thanks so much for having me. It’s so wonderful to be here. I’m really excited to talk about my new book and writing.
Which writers have influenced you the most?
While Revving Up the Holidays is a contemporary romance, I think I have been most influenced by historical romance. Jane Austen has probably been my biggest influence. I love Eloisa James, Jude Deveraux, Judith McNaught, and Sidney Sheldon. I could go on and on.
What age group do you recommend your book for?
Anyone over eighteen who loves a fast-paced, steamy, romance will enjoy Revving Up the Holidays. Any age for my historical romances.
What sparked the idea for this book?
I thought it would be fun to write a book where a motorcycle obsession could help to repair a broken spirit. From there the story just grew and blossomed.
Which comes first? The character’s story or the idea for the novel?
Usually it’s the story idea, but not always. Revving Up the Holidays came from the idea of the motorcycle. My recent release, Alaskan Exposure, evolved from a sexy ship’s first officer we met on an actual cruise. So, you never know when the muse will strike.
What was the hardest part to write in this book?
Whenever I write a book one character is clear in my mind and pushes me forward. Generally that means there is some other character who doesn’t want to divulge all of her secrets. Giada was difficult to get to know, but once I did, she was wonderful to write.
How do you hope this book affects its readers?
I hope and believe that Revving Up the Holidays will make the reader laugh, cry and root for the characters. I hope it gets you all in the holiday spirit.
How long did it take you to write this book?
This is a novella so it didn’t take long, maybe a month to write and a couple of weeks to tweak.
What is your writing routine?
I get up every day and sit down in front of my laptop in the sunroom and write. Some days are tough and other days are gloriously easy. Either way, I never give up on a good story.
How did you get your book published?
I’ve been working with Ellora’s Cave for a few years. I have an editor whom I love and trust with my work.
What advice do you have for someone who would like to become a published writer?
Never stop writing and honing your craft. Submit your books and take those rejection letters in your stride. Eventually one of them will be “the call” and things will turn your way. Never give up.
Great advice! What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I love to cook, garden, read and travel.
What does your family think of your writing?
They are very proud and supportive of me.
That’s great. Please tell us a bit about your childhood.
I grew up in Long Island, New York, and then Central New Jersey. I always told stories, mostly to myself, but never thought about writing them down until I was in my twenties.
Did you enjoy school?
I was that kid who got the note home saying, “… is a lovely child but daydreams most of the day.” I didn’t hate school but I never really excelled until I went to college.
Did you like reading when you were a child?
Yes, though not as much as I do now.
What was your favorite book as a child?
Who were your favorite authors as a child?
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
I was in college and had an English Composition assignment to write a short story based on a magazine photo. I was hooked after that.
Did your childhood experiences influence your writing?
I think if your childhood and adult experiences don’t influence your writing, you’re doing something wrong. We are what we have lived through and that has to come through in the work or it won’t be believable.
Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
I do hear from readers via social media. I’m happy to hear from them and most of the time they want to chat about everyday things. They like to know what coming next for me and my books and where they can read the next snippet.
What can we look forward to from you in the future?
I have four books in the works right now. Wishing Game is a short, sweet historical romance and will be available on 6 March 2014. I’m waiting to hear from my editor on a sequel to Kane’s Bounty, a paranormal romance about psychic law enforcement. The others are on the hush, hush, but I’ll be posting on Facebook as soon as I can.
Thanks so much for taking the time to talk to me today. It looks like you’re very busy. Happy holidays!

Description
Three Fates. Three Sisters.
When a will from her dead father decrees Chloe into the protection of the renowned vampire commander, Tyrian en Kulev, she does what any woman would do – and casts a spell. Things get worse for Chloe when the spell she and her sisters perform summons an ancient demon from deep within the earth. Now she’s being hunted by a demon set on killing her and must live at the aptly named Castle Death with the king of cold, Tyrian. Surprisingly, Chloe finds that she doesn’t mind her new Protector so much. His cold, impassionate nature needs a firm push to show his true colors, and Chloe thinks she’s just the one to do it.
Tyrian en Kulev always pays his debts. When Francis Bellum dies and orders Tyrian to act as his eldest daughter’s Protector, Tyrian resigns himself to the position. What should have been a simple deal – keep her in the castle, protect her – has turned difficult. Chloe comes to him with a demon trying to kill her and a sexy attitude that keeps invading his thoughts everywhere he goes. The little succubus easily grabs hold of the heart he’d kept locked away for so long and makes him feel once again. But can they defeat the demon that haunts her and can Tyrian overcome his past and move on to a new future with Chloe?
Excerpt
“This situation is one that neither of us seems to want.” For some reason, the fact that he didn’t want her miffed her. Just a little.
“Then let me go.” He didn’t shake his head, but she sensed the refusal in him.
“Impossible. I am sealed by a debt of honor to your father. I will uphold it, no matter how complicated this matter is. The rules I mentioned before still stand and will never change.”
He had a mouth that if wasn’t pulled into that tight line might be kissable, even lickable. Dang, Chloe. What’s wrong with you? Checking out the captor? She was crazy.
“Honestly, who upholds any of that old school stuff anyway? No one. My Papa didn’t even pay into the whole patriarchal thing. Seriously, we were raised to be independent and taught not to rely on a man. That fact that he’s…he’s given me to you is ridiculous and completely wrong for him. Just let me go and we’ll call it even. Your debt paid.”
“I can’t do that, Ms. Bellum. I will not dishonor your father and the vow I made to repay my debt to him. You will stay here, under my protection.”
She scoffed. “And where is here?” His voice was like cold ice running over her. It pebbled her nipples and brought goose bumps over her skin but not in a pleasurable way.
“You are at my castle in Norway. We are near the Jorgmund, the biggest hole in the rift, where we get the most lapses. Many of the Atal Warriors are stationed below the castle.”
Chloe squeezed her eyes shut. Think! Okay, what would her sisters do? Willow was probably already near China. No one could ever stop her, and Lily would probably try to perform some voodoo to get free.
She took a deep breath, which did the opposite of calming her, because she accidentally drew in his scent. She gasped and felt a flash of pleasure surge through her. He smelled as a man should, like something she could lick and bite and sink her teeth into over and again.
Oh God, what am I doing thinking thoughts like that! She was losing her mind. First, her Papa died leaving her to this nonsense, and now she was stuck with the most notorious man in the world. She would escape. She could do that. He didn’t seem intent upon hurting her and she might even be able to use the fact that he was indebted to her Papa to gain some leverage, if necessary.
Escape. Her mind whirled with possibilities. Like how the heck did she get out of Norway and to an airport? She didn’t even have any money on her.
“We need to discuss what will occur at the next new moon.” The thought she’d been having came to an abrupt stop in her head. Her eyes slammed open and her back dug into the door to try to get away from him.
“You can’t…we can’t,” she said, shaking her head to clear it. “No way,” she said finally. The commander turned around and marched away. She took a deep breath; it was as if he sucked up all the air in the room with his presence. Now she could breathe, but it didn’t smell as delicious as it did when he was near.
She tightened her grip on the towel to keep it from sliding down and embarrassing the hell out of her while she slowly, quietly slipped her free hand behind her. Her heart was beating so hard and fast, she prayed he couldn’t hear it. Could vampires hear such things? She reached, searching for the door handle.
“Something must be done. I am sure you are aware of the changes that you will go through at the new moon.”
Chloe glared at him. He knew just the right things to say to piss her off. “I am a succubus; of course I know. Better than you, I’m sure,” she said without hiding the sarcasm in her voice. “And I am not doing that with you,” she added for good measure.
He brought those eyes back to her, seemingly assessing everything about her. From the red nail polish on her toes to the not-perfectly-thin figure she sported. She clutched the towel tighter around her and did what she knew Willow would do. She glared at him with a look that clearly said fuck you.
“That is more than acceptable to me. I am sure you can find any number of willing males around the castle for your time of need. I’d recommend one of my closest guards because I sincerely trust them. If they do not meet your standards, perhaps one of the other Atal Warriors that reside below the castle. Please feel free to ask any of them. I shall not announce it to them in order to spare your privacy.”
Chloe thought his proclamation might be sweet if he didn’t say it with a tone that bordered on arctic. Though she couldn’t help but think that he was acting as her pimp with the suggestion. Bastard. Handsome bastard with a nasty scar that kept drawing her gaze. What was the story behind it? Every scar had a story, no matter how simple. Never mind, it didn’t matter. She was getting the hell out of here.

Review
This book is well written and so steamy hot that I don’t know if I’m grownup enough to read it!
The characters are well formed. I definitely connected with them. I liked the ironic humor in their circumstances. I liked the bond between the sisters. The sisters are different from each other, but all strong in their own ways. The men don’t stand a chance. Well done!

A Fine Profession:
The Chambermaid’s Tales Part One
by Sarah Michelle Lynch
Read A Fine Profession, part one of The Chambermaid’s Tales, before reading the next book, A Fine Pursuit, which has just been released.

Description
A mysterious woman tells her tale to the private investigator sent to find her…
Lottie reveals the tragic events that led her into the arms of a community of free-loving people. Within the secretive confines of the Lodge, she has a chance to be herself and escape the banality of her day job.
A ménage à trois doesn’t work out how she expected and she leaves behind the friends who helped her find her creativity. She goes on to explore her need for control, adopting the guise of a domme. But a domineering man arrives in her life and overthrows everything she previously believed. He is unforthcoming about his past – but we never discover the reasons. We know they were parted, but why?
Excerpt
The consummate seductress sat cross-legged on a chaise longue that was as crimson as her feted heart. That secondary bed straddled a voluptuous, Moroccan-inspired, Axminster rug, which added a touch of colour to a boudoir dominated by dark oak. She took a moment to survey the lavish, candlelit bedchamber, which might once have housed Henry Tudor for a night, for all she knew. It was just like many other sanctuaries she had grown accustomed to and those workaday environs no longer held any romance for her. They were as much a part of the illusion as she was.
The plush velvet of her seat somewhat clashed with the French, silk stockings she wore, so fine were they against her smooth, waxed limbs, she avoided static contact, barely moving an inch. The brooding, feminine musculature of her back was visible above a black lace basque, complemented by French knickers, suspenders and a customary pair of patent leather stilettos. The garments she need not have worn, for they left little to the imagination, though perhaps acted as a barrier of sorts.
Review
Though it’s billed as chick-lit, A Fine Profession by Sarah Michelle Lynch is much more than that simple genre tag allows. What I discovered between these electronic pages is an involved story that’s engaging in ways as to draw the interests of both sexes. To label it as mere chick-lit or erotica serves only to lure a certain segment of readers while keeping others at bay.
This is the story of Lottie, a practitioner of all things sexual, hence the erotica label. But the story delves deeper into the human condition, examining the choices made by this one woman. Lottie is the one telling the story of her own sexual awakening, spilling her secrets to Heath, a private investigator sent to track down this mysterious Chambermaid. The sex scenes certainly call for an audience of 18 years of age and older; but don’t be turned away. Lynch has crafted a well-written story filled with fleshed-out characters that are as real as any literary characters I’ve ever read. We learn of Lottie’s childhood battle with illness, of her struggles with early-adulthood responsibilities, and of the true love she seeks. But just who sent this private investigator to track down the Chambermaid? You’ll have to purchase your own copy to get answers. This is a book I feel safe in recommending. I don’t normally read erotica, but A Fine Profession offers so much more than simple sex. I rate Lynch’s novel 5 out of 5 stars.

Excerpt
I turn to face him; he puts his other arm around me. We are in the same position as before when the last kiss attempt failed. My arms are tight around his neck, his arms around my waist. I look down. He lifts up my chin so I’m lost in his gaze. His hand goes back to my waist. He swallows; I think he’s as nervous as I am. He tilts his head and leans in … I back away quickly.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, looking hurt.
“Oh, no, it’s not you. I think … I might have garlic breath.”
He laughs and pulls me back to him. “So do I.” He pulls me in tighter, and before I know what’s happening, his lips are on mine. I give in and surrender to him completely.
This feels like one of my fantasies, only way, way better. He holds me tight as one hand moves from my waist to caress my cheek, kissing me softly but sensually. My hands move to the back of his head, and I grab a lock of hair in each hand. He moves our bodies so that I’m against the railing at the edge of the deck. He moves his hand from my waist to hold the rail as I still grasp his hair. The kissing becomes feverishly passionate; his tongue against mine as they intertwine with each other. Our breathing becomes faster and erratic. Our kissing becomes more intimate. We are in perfect sync with each other. I pull him closer to me, our whole bodies touching. My heart is pounding fast and hard. His hand moves from my face to the back of my head, pulling me tight. He moves my hair from the side of my neck, breaks our kiss and kisses my neck slowly and seductively. I sigh and breathe in a stuttering motion. I open my eyes to see the waitress standing there, gawking at us. I stiffen as I see her. He pulls back and looks at me. With my eyes, I gesture toward the waitress. He turns, looks, and lets out a little huff. He leans in towards me.
“Now that’s a first kiss,” he whispers as he grabs my hand and leads me over to the table. I can’t help but smile.
Review
Jenifer has some serious trust issues. From the moment he ran into her (literally with his car) Aiden has known there was something special about her. In between their budding relationship his family (well his father), an ex he can’t get away from, and corporate embezzlement could tear them apart unless Jenifer can Trust him.
I’m totally in love with Adian where can I find one of him? (Shhh don’t tell my husband I said that) 😉 Great story with an interesting plot line. Loved Sarah and Chris’s banter it helped lighten up the story so further down the line it didn’t seem so dark. It was easy to get into the roles of the characters especially what kind of smart ass remarks I would make to Alastar for Jeni. The story draws you in and doesn’t wanna let you go.

My nerves start to get the better of me, I start to feel nauseous; those darn pesky butterflies attack again. I’m not sure why I’m nervous, whether it’s the shoes making me unstable or whether it’s the memory of our first date, our first touch, or our first kiss that’s making me bashful.
I turn the corner to see him standing there with a bunch of red roses, in the suit that he changed into earlier, this time with a baby pink tie on. Behind him is that gorgeous waterfall cascading down the cliff with the lush greenery surrounding us. As I take a step closer, I hear music playing. “Thank You for Loving Me” by Bon Jovi. It’s our song. I feel my eyes welling up as all the emotion and love I feel for this man is becoming too much to bear.
His smile is beaming from ear to ear when I approach. Finally I reach him. He holds out his hand for me to take. I take it, and he pulls me into a tight embrace.
“This is perfect,” I whisper.
“Perfection for perfection, my love.” He kisses my cheek, and places the bouquet of flowers on the railing.

Warning minor spoiler alert!
Aiden and Jeni’s story continues right where it left off with him in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Luckily for them when Jeni goes to clean out Aiden’s office she and Bri (Aiden’s sister) overhear and record a conversation from the real perpetrators helping to set Aiden free. With him free their love grows to new heights and they begin again with their lives together.
So that’s it right? Nope!
When things finally seem to be going their way new trials and tribulations come foward that could threaten to tear them apart for good. Can the Trust they found in each other truly know no limits or will what happens ruin them forever.
Loved this book just as much as the last and am now chomping at the bit for the final installation in this trilogy. Jeni standing next to her man at the beginning is a beautiful show of her Trust. And Aiden’s desire to do anything and everything he can to take can of Jeni was so sweet. And yes I’m still in the mood to kick Aiden’s potty mouthed, anger management needed father right where the sun don’t shine.

Interview With the Author
K.E. Osborn, thanks for joining me today to discuss The Trust Me? Trilogy.
Which writers have influenced you the most?
E. L. James and her the Fifty Shades of Grey Series, because her writing re-ignited my love of books, which I had lost over the years. I also enjoyed reading S. C. Stephens, The Thoughtless Series and Conversion. Her writing skills and execution are exemplary, and I hope that I will be that skilled one day.
What age group do you recommend your book for?
I write in the Contemporary Romance genre so therefore my books are for mature adults 18 years +.
What sparked the idea for this series?
The Trust Me? Trilogy was born from a vivid dream. The dream was so real that I woke up and quickly wrote it down, so I wouldn’t forget about it in the morning. The next thing I knew I was writing a Trilogy. I had the dream in 2012, and I sat myself down to write solidly until the Trilogy was on paper. Some of the characters in the book are based on my actual friends, and of course things that have happened in my life. I have major trust issues and this book helped me to see that perhaps they can be overcome with love.
Which comes first? The character’s story or the idea for the novel?
For me the idea of the storyline or a particular scene in which the story is built around seems to come first. Then I develop a storyboard for my characters.
What was the hardest part to write in these books?
Trust Me? is light-hearted to start with, but as you get further into the book and see the direction it’s taking, it became more difficult. However Love Me? was quite hard to write because it’s an emotional roller coaster ride, from beginning to the end. Technically all the legal scenes were difficult to write because I had to do a lot of research to make sure the story was as accurate as it could be without a legal background.
How do you hope this series affects its readers?
A lot of women out there have trust issues and therefore can relate to the lead character Jeni. I am hoping that the readers who have trust issues will begin to believe that perhaps there is hope for them to find love and trust the man they are with. Sometimes trust issues can be overcome and I certainly hope that scenario can be drawn from these books.
How long did it take you to write the books?
Trust Me? took around three months to write, with Love Me? taking approximately one month. Of course, this is only the first draft, many more endless hours of editing, drafting, beta-reading and re-editing have taken place for each book.
What is your writing routine?
Currently I am spending most of my time promoting Trust Me? and Love Me? with the rest of my time editing and re-writing All of Me?, the last book in The Trust Me? Trilogy. However, I hope to continue writing my latest work within the next few weeks.
How did you get your books published?
As an Indie Author I have self-published my books using Amazon and Smashwords.
What advice do you have for someone who would like to become a published writer?
Whilst I really enjoy writing and love the fact that I’m self published and people are purchasing and loving my work, it’s not an easy job by any means. There’s so much more to it than just writing your books. You need to have an editor, you need to find and trust Beta readers, you need to have designers to help you with book covers, memes, banners, etc. (lucky for me I am a fully qualified Graphic Designer so I don’t have to outsource my graphics). You also need to have a fair amount of cash behind you so you can pay for all the necessary items to have your book self-published. This includes all sorts of hidden costs. One of the traps for young players is the fact that you have to have a US tax file number (if you are not from the US), which can take months to get. The other thing is that you have to work endlessly and tirelessly at self-promotion because you do not have a marketing team like you would if you had a publishing house behind you.
Great advice! What do you like to do when you’re not writing?
I really like reading, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends. One of the things that I have noticed is that time is very limited because I have to spend lots of time social-networking. So even when I visit friends and family, I need to take my iPad with me so I can ensure that I don’t miss anything important.
What does your family think of your writing?
My mother actually found my manuscript for Trust Me? when it was about 50% completed. She sat down and read it and then asked, “Where’s the rest of it”. She was the first to read the entire first manuscript, and then I sent it out to friends to read. I’m pretty sure my mother is very proud of me.
That’s great! Please tell us a bit about your childhood.
I had a great childhood growing up, and I was involved in many groups such as the Australian Naval Cadets and a karate group. I got involved in drag racing as a spectator and as president of a fan club – I absolutely loved it. I majored in music, drama, and design at school. Basically I have a love and flare for all things creative.
Did you enjoy school?
Yes I loved school. Mathematics and science not so much, but English, drama, music, and design were my favorite classes. I had a great group of friends and we used to hang out for hours.
Did you like reading when you were a child?
I was more into movies than actually reading a book. If I had to read a book in school, mostly I would just rent the movie. Although, through school I was a big fan of The Baby-Sitters Club books and the Goosebumps series.
What was your favorite book as a child?
Apart from those already mentioned, I had a soft spot for The Secret Garden and anything written by Roald Dahl. Probably though my favourite childhood book was C. S. Lewis’ The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
Who were your favorite authors as a child?
Roald Dahl and C. S. Lewis were probably my favourite authors.
When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
In high school I had a love of writing, but decided on a career in Graphic Design instead. It wasn’t until I had a vivid dream about a couple meeting through a three car pileup, that I felt like I had to write this story down. Next thing I know the idea has turned into a Trilogy. My dream was in October 2012, and I set myself down and started writing solidly until the Trilogy was on paper. It was after I had a few people tell me that my writing was good that I realized I wanted to publish it.
Did your childhood experiences influence your writing?
No, my genre has nothing to do with children, so therefore nothing from my childhood can be used to influence my writing.
Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?
Basically I do hear from them a lot on social media and mostly they say, “I cannot wait for the next book, when is it out?” Also the fact that they think that the lead male is super-sweet and sexy.
What can we look forward to from you in the future?
I currently have two projects. The first project is called Just Friends? This story is about an Australian girl, Kat Barett, who moves to LA to further her music career. She meets a cocky and arrogant Will Sanders at her college. An Indi Director hires Kat and Will to star in an upcoming movie franchise. The story talks about their rise to fame, how they cope with it, and ultimately go from being just friends to falling in love.
The second project is called It Will Rain? This is the story about Mikailie Raine, a budding young author who’s on the right side of the tracks. She meets Cole Barrington, a very dominant man who is ruthless in his business dealings. Mikailie quickly picks up that there’s something darker about Cole, and that he’s keeping something from her. Cole is infatuated by Mikailie and her innocence, but he doesn’t want to drag her into his darkness. This book may develop into a series of two books, but the first one is still in the early draft stages of writing.
It sounds like you’re pretty busy! Thanks so much for stopping by for a chat today. Good luck with your upcoming projects.

Description
When fear mixes with desire, who can you trust?
Rachel Stone is stuck, contemplating that very question. Spending her time as a bartender in an isolated West Virginia town, she hides behind dark hair and an assumed name. She exists from day to day, trying not to let her past overwhelm her.
When a tall stranger walks into the bar at closing time, her attempts at hiding turn to dust. Muscled and intense, he is attractive enough for Rachel to ignore her instincts and listen to her baser desires. As a storm brews in the skies of West Virginia, confusion builds in Rachel’s mind. What begins as flirtation explodes into a darker, more primal passion, leading her to question everything she thought she knew.
While snow blankets the outside world, they are forced to remain inside, confronting their demons and the sizzling attraction between them. Submitting to their urges is easy; learning who to trust is anything but.
This 30,000 word novella contains references to past abuse and rough, consensual sex.
Excerpt
“Can I get a drink?” The voice startled her, and Rachel froze for a moment, glancing up at the mirror lining the wall behind the bar. The stranger stared back at her, his face reflected in the glass. Their eyes met and she dropped her cloth, the fabric square falling to the wooden floor. She took a deep breath, trying to still her racing heart before turning around with a smile painted on her lips.
“Sure, what can I get you?”
It was as if he’d appeared out of nowhere. A ghost walking through walls.
“What beers you got?” Like hers, the stranger’s voice seemed out of place. It was an accent that unnerved her to the bone. She hadn’t heard it for more than a year, save coming out of her own mouth. All she had to do was closer her eyes, and it was like she was back in Boston.
“You want draft or bottle?” Her lips were dry as hell, and she snaked her tongue out to moisten them. The stranger kept his gaze glued to her face as he considered the options, fingers tapping gently on the bar. He looked to be in his mid-thirties, his thick hair showing no signs of grey. His face remained unlined, though peppered with light stubble, the dark-blond scruff shadowing his jaw. He was good looking too, in that rugged, tough way that some guys were. Even sitting on the bar stool, she could tell he was a big man: tall and built. The thick muscles of his chest fought with the fabric of his t-shirt to make themselves known, and the muscles were winning. It felt like the temperature had risen by forty degrees. She pulled at the neckline of her sweater to fan her skin.
Review
Rachel works as waitress in local bar, hiding from her past, trying not to attract any attention to herself. When mysterious Murphy comes into the town, Rachel is not sure what to think of him. Did he really come because of businnes or is it something else? Will he be able to see through her pretences?
I was extremely excited for this novella and I was most certainly not disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised that even though Halfway Hidden is short novella, author didn’t resolve to using insta-love or insta-connection. Plot moved on gradually, giving it natural and believable flow.
Also, I have to admit that I really liked Rachel and Murphy. She was down-to-earth mature woman and he was rough-looking but gentle man. But most of all I loved how author built up growing attraction between the two of them, it was a very enjoyable read!
I loved how dangerously sexy (and a little bit kinky) this novella was! It was admirable how putty I was in author’s hands with all that anticipation she created! On the top of that, there was element of mystery and surprise, which added feel of excitement to this story.
I highly recommend this! Rarely I get to read erotic novella with actual storyline! I am hoping for more of Rachel and Murphy in the future 🙂
